About This Stuff...
the raison d’être

Wtfcody.com is the home of the DonationCoder.com mascot, Cody. It’s just a little place on the web to store anything related to the bird and the other characters he encounters.
Over time, the website will develop into a portfolio of work using Cody as the theme. Depending upon the audience that hopefully develops there will be a focus on the comic and gallery sections of the site – but it could follow others paths, who knows.
On a personal level the site is intended to be the first realisation out of a list of projects. It’s something completely new for me. As I learn from the experience I expect things on the site to change, the artwork will become more refined and of greater depth – or maybe it will become more simplistic and mimic some other artist's style. Either way, the intention is for it to become better and for Cody’s fans to consider it so.

The History of Cody
In March 2006, there was a contest held over at DonationCoder.com to find a new mascot for the site. As the thread developed, a coin collecting bird grew to be the favourite idea and after several iterations the final Cody was born. Since then, Cody has taken up firm residence over on DonationCoder.com and has grown to be perfect ambassador for the DC ethos. The original thread can be found at this link: DonationCoder.com Logo Contest is Over - We Have a New Official Mascot/Logo!.
Here's a quick run through of the different stages that Cody took to grow into what you see at the bottom of this page.

First cleaned up version using Macromedia Fireworks
(this is how Cody remained for a few months).

Cody finally comes to life with the help of Adobe Illustrator.
I think the name 'Codie' was suggested by Carol Haynes. This quickly became 'Cody', inspired by Coder as in DonationCoder. (If you know this to be incorrect then please let me know.)
If you would like to know even more about the 'history' of Cody you can view these links, CodyCards Gallery and CodyCards Contest over on DonationCoder.com (these reveal some of Cody's adventures that were witnessed by his friends).
And Finally
I have to give many, many thanks to mouser (Jesse Reichler) for all his encouragement, enthusiasm and help, and to all the DonationCoder forum members that have given me reason to create this website. Thanks guys!
